Regulation (EU) 2024/996 amending the regulation on cosmetic products, prohibition of a UV filter

The use of 4-methylbenzylidene camphor in cosmetic products will be banned with effect from 1 May 2025.

The UV filter will be transferred to Annex II of Regulation (EC) 1223/2009 on that date. The sale of goods previously placed on the market will remain permitted until 1 May 2026.
