EU Commission publishes draft amendment to Directive 2002/32/EC (undesirable substances in animal feed)

The EU Commission has amended and added existing maximum levels and action limits for Annexes I and II of Directive 2002/32/EC on undesirable substances in animal feed. Among other things, the limit values for arsenic, cadmium, lead, ergot, endosulfan, dioxins and dioxin-like PCBs and datura seeds are to be amended. New maximum levels are to be added for delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9-THC), p-phenetidine and nickel.

The action limits for dioxins and PCBs are also to be amended.
